Glute Workout at Home: 6 Exercises With No Gym Required
You do not need a gym to start strengthening your glutes. Bodyweight, a resistance band, or a securely loaded backpack can provide useful options for a home workout.
The six-move routine
Glute bridges: 3 sets of 12–20
Bodyweight squats: 3 sets of 10–15
Reverse lunges: 3 sets of 8–12 per side
Single-leg glute bridges: 2–3 sets of 8–12 per side
Step-ups on a stable surface: 2–3 sets of 8–12 per side
Backpack Romanian-deadlift pattern: 3 sets of 10–15
How to make it harder
When the routine becomes easy, slow the lowering phase, add repetitions within a reasonable range, use a resistance band, or gradually add load to a secure backpack.
Prioritize technique
Use controlled movements and a range of motion you can manage comfortably. Make sure any elevated surface used for step-ups is stable and secure.
How often should you train?
Start with two sessions per week and allow recovery between them. If you recover well and your performance improves, adjust volume gradually.

Your next step
Set aside 25–35 minutes for your first session, record your repetitions, and repeat the routine consistently before adding more exercises.
